The Texas Revolution mainly has the same reasons as the American Revolution. The Texas Revolution has to do with getting freedom from the dictator of Mexico, Santa Anna. The Texas revolution happened during the 1800's. An empresario or agent named, Stephen F. Austin told people that he was giving land away for free but the catch was that they had to obey Mexican laws. Ofcoarse the said yes but they didn't follow them like they said. Santa Anna got mad and banned further settlement in mexico. the texans got mad at santa anna and started a war. the first war ever in the texas revolution was called the Alamo. santa anna"s army won the battle but this caused the texan general to gather up his forces and do the final battle of the texas revolution. The battle was called "The battle of San Jacinto". The texans won the Battle and was declared an independent nation! After the war what used to be part of mexico was The Republic of Texas. After 10 years of becoming an independent nation they were considered a part of the united states. Even though the texans won the mexicans did not have to leave the land that was considered The Republic of Texas!!!!!
